Remember that exciting project I hinted at in my last post? Well, as my mentor predicted, things have evolved – in a BIG way! I’m thrilled to announce that I’m in the process of creating a non-profit organization focused on making a difference in housing and education right here in Milwaukee!
This idea has been swirling inside me, and the momentum is incredible. I’ve been working hard, putting my thoughts to paper and meeting with business and community leaders. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, and it’s clear a program like this is necessary for our city.
And now, for the big reveal… the name of this initiative is MKE Forward! Here’s our powerful mission statement:
“MKE Forward fuels progress in Milwaukee by revitalizing housing, unlocking economic opportunity, fostering collaboration, realigning mindsets, and igniting the potential of EVERY resident.”
Let that sink in – because MKE Forward isn’t just a non-profit; it’s a movement for change!
Now, some of you may be thinking, “Well, I’ve heard this before…” I don’t want to let the secret out of the bag just yet, but I will tell you, we’re going to do things differently.
This is a HUGE undertaking, with lots of listening and even more paperwork ahead. But I know that to make real change, I’ll need a dedicated team. Soon, I’ll be creating a board of directors. I’m looking for passionate, accomplished individuals from all walks of life to help steer this initiative.
